Windstorm/Structural Inspector (Texas)
Aran + Franklin Engineering is currently looking for a windstorm inspector in the SE Texas areas of the
Golden Triangle and Galveston County.
Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma and/or construction experience.
• Requires a current Class C Texas Driver’s License; and dependable transportation
• Preferably individuals with knowledge of windstorm building code and other laws and statutes which
may govern the construction of structures on the Texas gulf coast.
• Use of computers, phones and tablets including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
software applications.
• The ability to achieve ICC residential inspector certification within twelve months.
• Must be able to pass and obtain FAA Drone licenses with 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to pass drug test and, background check.
This position involves the inspection of buildings constructed in windstorm and non-windstorm areas.
This position requires the ability to:
• Meet with contractors, builders, agents, consumers, and professional engineers on building code
requirements;
• Perform inspections of residential and commercial properties;
• Prepare onsite progress reports for the main office;
• Respond to technical inquiries, both verbal and written;
• Respond to and resolves complaints;
• Assist with special projects;
• Transport a +/- 35 pound ladder issued by our firm to worksites;
• Climb ladder to heights of +/- 40 feet OR ability to safely operate drone with FAA license;
• Work effectively with all levels of employees and the public;
• Read and comprehend construction drawings and building codes and conduct inspections;
• Conduct inspections and identifies non-code compliant findings;
• Prepare clear and concise reports of findings and sketches on demand;
• Observe all safety aspects of the field office;
• Obtain new product information as required for certification;
• Maintain neat appearance; and
• Work independently.
We offer mileage reimbursement rates based off mileage to the inspection or a company vehicle will be
provided. Pay range for this position varies based on experience and qualifications from $15- $20 per
hour.

• Perform feasibility studies to ascertain if projects can/should be
